Topic for July 23rd Show

On July 23rd we'd like letters and phone calls on the topic of volunteering in the prison system vs. having personal contact with individual incarcerated people. In the New York State prison system, one has to choose between being a volunteer or visiting & corresponding with one or more incarcerated people. As a volunteer, say going inside to facilitate a group, one helps many people. As a visitor or correspondent with one or more incarcerated people, one maintains important personal connections. How does one choose? What are the pros & cons? Let us know your thoughts.
